Doug Eke - BTF Level 3 Coach - Development Coach
Doug is our most experienced triathlon coach. At present Doug is the club’s only BTF coach qualified to Level 3 – the highest coaching level within British Triathlon. AS well as coaching club swim, bike and run sessions, Doug is also qualified to take on individual athletes to help them achieve their own personal goals. In 2009 Doug was voted as East Midlands Regional Coach of the Year – the first of Lincolntri’s coaches to achieve this accolade. As well as a qualified triathlon coach, Doug is also an ASA qualified swim coach and as well as working with Lincoln Tri club, has worked with some of Lincolnshire’s swimming clubs. Doug is also level 3 race referee.
Mike Masters - BTF Level 2 Coach & BTF Technical Official
Mike has been competing in Triathlon for many years up to Tinman distance. A character on the local and international race scene, he been selected on several occasions to represent Great Britain as an Age Group athlete at both European and World Long Course Championships. As well as a qualified level 2 Triathlon Coach, Mike is also a BTF recognised Open Water Swim Coach. Mike was one of the founder coaches of the club’s junior section as well as a regular coach on poolside. In addition to his coaching activities, Mike is perhaps more frequently seen officiating at races – not just our local races, but as an ITU official, Mike can be called upon to officiate at elite level international races. He was voted East Midlands Regional Official of the year 2009.

Judith Brand - BTF Level 2 Coach - Junior Coach Coordinator
One of the founder members of Lincoln Tri Club, she has been competing as a triathlete for over 20 years. Favouring longer races, she has done a number of Iron distance races as well as representing Great Britain as an age grouper in both European and World Long Course Championships. Judith first qualified as a triathlon coach in 2008, already holding coaching qualifications in swimming, athletics and hockey. A former lecturer in Sports Science and Physical Education, Judith brings a wealth of experience to the club, working with both juniors and adults in Lincoln Tri as well as doing some coaching for the BTF. She is also one of the club’s qualified open water swim coaches.

Jon Riddell - BTF Level 2 Coach
Jon completed his first Triathlon in 1995, he has competed in all distances from sprint to Ironman and is Lincoln tri's longest serving coach. He is the lead coach for Monday nights swim session at Waddington.

Doug Malcolm- BTF Level 1 Coach
Doug has been involved in triathlon for over 8 years, he has represented the Royal Air Force on numerous occasions, competing in races up to ironman distance. he currently is a level 1 coach, and hopes to complete his level 2 course later this year. Doug regularly assists with coaching at RAF Waddington on a Monday and Yarborough on a Friday.

Richard Sheldrake - BTF Level 1 Coach
Richard has regularly competed in triathlons since 2004. Richard attained the BTF level 1 coaching qualification in December 2009. He has been involved with assisting the existing coaches in coaching the Juniors since the Junior Section started and more recently adults at the monday and wednesday night swim sessions. He will continue to coach as well as training for his first iron distance race in August.

Martin Wood - BTF Level 1 Coach
Martin has been involved in triathlon for over 4 years, having come from a background of fell and mountain endurance running and Adventure Racing. Martin is a qualified Level 3 High Jump Coach and Level 2 Endurance Coach with UK Athletics. Recently qualified as a Level 1 Coach, Martin regularly assists at the Wednesday swimming sessions at RAF Cranwell. Martin is currently training for his first Ironman distance race in August.
Donnah Thompson – BTF Level 1 Coach
Donnah joined Lincoln Tri to help with the newly formed junior section in early 2009 as a qualified ASA swim coach. She qualified as a triathlon level 1 coach in January 2010. In addition to coaching and competing, Donnah is also part of the Onestepbeyond team and can be seen at most of their races. Just recently, as part of her job as Community Beat Manager with the police, Donnah has been involved with some grassroots work introducing several hundred children to the sport – perhaps this was what led you to look at joining LincolnTri Club as it has attracted a number of new members to our club!
