As you can see I make friends very easily and never take myself too seriously. Although when it comes to protecting our children and vulnerable adults within the sport of triathlon, this is a subject that I and Lincoln Tri care about. I was first introduced into the sport through my wife and have been an active member of Newark for a number of years. As Lincoln club grows and expands I can see an opportunity to give something back to the sport. If you have any concerns for a young or vulnerable person within the club do not hesitate to contact either club welfare officer. Your concerns will be treated seriously and dealt with confidentiality, but we may have to disclose some issues to a third party depending upon their severity.

Lincoln Triathlon club openly welcomes people from all areas of our
community. The club is committed to equality of access and will not
tolerate any discrimination on grounds of disability, religion, faith,
gender or sexual orientation.
Working together with our venues we aim to make all our sessions fully
accessible for all disabled athletes, and will work with specific
members to ensure they have the opportunity to access as many club
sessions as possible.
Lincoln tri currently has one coach that has completed the "Coaching
Disabled Triathlete" module. The club is planning to ensure all coaches
have completed the coaching qualification in the future.
Coaching locations are generally selected for availability and lowest
cost to the members, though consideration will be made to ensure members
have the opportunity to access these sessions, despite limited transport
options in the area. The club will work with the session coach, using
the forum, to arrange possible lift share or alternative transport.
The clubs coaching team looks to improve an athletes ability to perform
and complete in multi sport events at ALL standards and distances. If
you have never ridden a bike before, swam 25mtrs freestyle or want to
complete your 1st Ironman then we will try our very best to place you
on the road to triathlon success.
Coached group sessions are just that. Although we will do our best to
answer any questions and offer advice away from the individual sessions
we are not yet in a position to do tailored one to one coaching plans.
However we will try and show you how to construct your own.
Remember! Lincoln tri is an athlete centred club working for its
members. Bridge the gap between recreation and competitive athletes by telling us your opinions and desires so we can focus our coaching plan.
Interested in joining? Please contact our membership secretary - secretary@lincolntri.co.uk
or visit a session and watch how the club runs. You can have a chat with
the athletes and coaches at the session, in a relaxed and friendly
environment. For more informtion please post your question on the the club forum here. |
